Cars in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then located multiple other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials say initial examinations indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the event," they added.

City officials stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.

A senior representative commented the vandalism made him stunned and had to be solved promptly.

"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
