A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 different events.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

His defensive play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to play at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the last five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to create a third set.

Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
